Creative Rendezvous--Missoula Style

Yesterday I drove to Missoula, Montana to join my sister Christy and our friend Tracy for an overnight Creative Rendezvous.

Christy and Tracy asked me to join them for one of the nights of their four-day rendezvous.

Christy and Tracy both belong to our Sacred Community Garden, where we encourage our members to have weekly creative rendezvous, a time to create and have fun.

When I arrived at the Vacation Rental Christy and Tracy were staying at in Missoula, I saw a whole table filled with craft items that we could use.

I decided to grab some small canvases and some acrylic paint markers, and start having some fun painting flowers.

This morning I first used some photos Tracy printed off to make some coasters with the pictures of the four dogs belonging to families...Sadie, Cleo, Riley and Gibbs.

Then I grabbed some colored pencils and drew more flowers to put inside these circular coasters.

My final project was to make an inspirational message to myself using a chip board heart, a wooden door, and a quote by Julia Cameron.

Once I finished my projects, Tracy and I had some creative conversations about blogs and websites.  Then we all went to lunch at a cafe in downtown Missoula called Catalyst.

A couple blocks away we went shopping at a store that took me back in time to Spokane, Washington in the 70's, shopping with mom and Christy at a placed called the Import Market.  There is still an Import Market in Missoula, and the smell of incense, the rugs and wicker baskets, and the eclectic mix of merchandise transported me back in time.  I loved the colorful displays in the store.

What an incredible time to just grab supplies and create!!  I encourage you to take some time this week, grab some supplies, and take some time to have fun and create.
