Distractions

distractions hope new beginnings schedule spring Mar 17, 2022

By Carol Woolum Roberts

I had a weekend away with friends.

At the end of the weekend, I was hit full on by a head cold.

Springing forward and the head cold caused me to sleep more, nap more, and get the rest I needed.

Wednesday, I was consumed all afternoon by preparations for an evening meeting.

Thursday morning, during my morning routine, I realized one thing that didn’t get done on Wednesday.

I did not write or schedule my blog post to be sent out at the normal 4 a.m. Thursday morning time.

I guess I have been a bit distracted.

Everything has been a little off this week.  Deadlines a little late.  Projects not tended to in a timely manner.

My mantra since last fall when Paul and I decided to start our Grow Me A Story business has been…

Make a schedule….make a schedule….make a schedule.

I kind of have a routine, but I need to get on more of a schedule.

Hopefully a schedule will help me keep on track.

Sunday a new season begins.  The season of spring.  Spring is my favorite season.  For me it represents new life, positive changes, color, flowers, green grass, birds singing, sunshine.

I get to plant seeds, and watch green leaves break forth from the soil.  The trees in the yard start leafing out.  The bushes form buds ready to flower.  We start cleaning up the gardens and putting them back together for another glorious time in our backyard oasis.

The crocus flowers are already showing their cheeriness in my front flower bed.

I like the seasons. I like that there is a beginning and an end to each season.

Sunday can be a new beginning for me, for me personally, for my gardens, for my life.

Thinking of spring makes me hopeful.
