Last week Paul and I spent the week at Mullan Junior/Senior High School creating a sketch comedy show with every student in the school. It was called "Little Gym Live" and it was based on the popular sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live".
With the help of the students we created three sketches, three parody commercials, and a news cast. We also had a special musical guest.
What an incredible week working with the students. I love working with students in the Mullan School District. They were creative, respectful, fun and willing to get up on stage, doing what we asked of them.
They shared with us some great ideas about their community that we used in each sketch, commercial and newscast.
Two girls, in grades 7 and 8, did an amazing job singing Norah Jones song "Don't Know Why".
As the Artists in Residence last week, we hope students stretched themselves, and maybe got out of their comfort zones, trying something new.
It was great getting comments from the woman who does a drama play every spring, as she saw some potential students to be in her next production.
I won't lie.
It was an intensive week.
It was full of highs and lows.
But by the time they performed on Friday, I was thrilled and energized by the creativity the students shared!!
