The Creativity of Vision, Accountability and Collaboration

accountability collaboration purge 2024 vision board Feb 01, 2024

By Carol Woolum Roberts

I have found I do much better if I am accountable to someone.

I have a consistent walking routine (almost) every morning with Cleo, because I have a friend to meet who walks her dog, too.  I was tempted to shut off the alarm and roll back over for more sleep this morning. Having someone waiting to walk with me motivated me to get out of bed, put on my exercise clothes, and start walking.

Each month I meet with three other writers to share our progress on our various novel writing projects. Each month I know I have to have something written to share with the group.  This helps motivate me to keep working on the story my book is telling.

These are two examples of things in my life I do better because there is some accountability involved.

After creating my vision board, word and color last year, the purpose and goals I created did not come to fruition.  The vision board got stuck up on the wall where I hardly ever looked at it. And I made it way too complicated. So my vision of “realign” last year did not happen as I would have hoped.

This is a new year, a new vision, and a new plan. This year, I had two people ask about checking in with me at the end of each month, and report to each other on how we are doing regarding our 2024 Vision.

I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this before. Knowing I will be sharing my progress at the end of each month can be quite a good motivator for me. We also ask for suggestions if we are stuck working on one of our goals.

I wrote my PURGE Report January 2024 this morning to share with my vision partners. I had journaled about my progress in my Sowing Seeds journal yesterday, so I was ready to share my progress.

I am excited to be a part of helping someone else work toward their vision for 2024. I welcome the input I will receive from them as well.

Here is to vision, accountability and collaboration in 2024….a rather creative way to approach the goals of the new year.
